When and why do
people undergo Facelift?
To rejuvenate the skin of your face by removing excess face, tightening

How to prepare yourself ?
Stop smoking , drinking alcohol, taking vitamin E and any medication
containing aspirin or ibuprofen ( 2 weeks before and after surgery is

medications you're currently taking.
The Surgery
Mostly , Facelift surgery is performed under local anesthesia combined with
oral and intravenous sedatives or general anesthesia. Incisions usually
begin at the temples behind the hairline, extend into the ear canal and back
out under the earlobes and around into the scalp area behind the ear. If the
neck need work, a small incision may be also be made under the chin. - The
skin is separates from the fat and muscle below. Fat may be trimmed or
suctioned from around the neck and chin to improve the neck and jaw line
Then the doctor tightens the underlying muscle and membrane, pulls the skin
back and trim the excess. The incisions are closed by stitches and staples.
There maybe placed 2 drain (thin tube) under the skin behind your ear to
allow any blood without collecting. - The doctor will wrap bandages all over
your head to minimize bruising and swelling.
Post Operation
Keep your head elevated at least 1-2 week, Apply cold compresses for twenty
minutes every hour for a minimum of forty ? eight hours. For about a week,
avoid excessive talking, laughing and heavy chewing. If you've had a
drainage tube inserted, it will be removed one or two days after surgery.
Bandages, When used, are usually removed after one to five days.
